July 1, 2013 - Grahamstown Festival

Since we spent two nights during the last few days on an overnight bus ride, we slept really well last night and slept in until 7am, not waking once during the night.  We were really tired and it felt good to be in our own bed.   We gathered up water bottles to fill at the spring since we were going to Grahamstown to the festival they have there each year.  We met up with the Chase’s and wandered through the huge tents set up for the sellers of merchandise and souvenirs, saw native dancing and ate native foods.

We saw some interesting things. These are made out of tires cut in strips and then woven together.

These were really fine works of metal art, one of which we know our son-in-law, Josh would love.  However, they are very expensive…R6000-R8000 each.  That’s like $600-$800. I think pictures will have to do for now!!

We saw people dressed in some interesting attire, I like this guys hat.
