August 1, 2012
Can’t believe it is August already. It is winter here….no snow, of course,
however, it can snow in South Africa and we heard reports of it just a couple
of weeks ago somewhere between here and Johannesburg. But it has been cold today. .. rainy and
windy. We have been wearing our
raincoats today and sitting close to the heater….it will be interesting to see
what summer in December is really like.
I made a carrot cake to take to the editor of the local
newspaper, because he likes carrot cake and he did write a nice article on us
when we first arrived here. We hope to
get coverage of our Helping Hands service project on August 18. I am willing to bribe.
We had seminary again….every Wednesday. The only people there were the host
family. I think it was a good evening,
however, as the family really participated in the lesson…the father is not
active, but sat right down with the scriptures.
He told President we were always welcome there. We then went over to the Tunyes’ to see how
they were doing. They seem to like us to
come and Brother Tunye always asks ME to leave with prayer.
