August, 9, 2013 Farewell dinner for the Van Sickles

Rick started the day by going to the Fumba’s home with Patrick Nteyi to wire in a light into their bathroom.  It took longer, as usual, and he didn’t get home until 11:15 am.  We were to be at district meeting at 11:30, so I called Elder Andersen to let him know.  All was well.  After the meeting we had Sloppy Joes and a pasta salad at our boarding and then we left to go to Port Elizabeth where we would join the Sherberts and go to a farewell dinner for the Van Sickles.  We went to a Chinese place place for dinner.

Then to the Stokoe’s for dessert and a testimony meeting.  It was nice.  Rick had prepared a small speech about superhero’s for Elder VanSickle and gave him a t-shirt with a big red S on it.  Brother and Sister Van Sickle have been an inspiration to us with their dedication to helping people and going above and beyond the mark. Rick has taken to calling him Elder Super Sickle.

The night was a fun time with the senior couple.

The Blatters who are replacing the Van Sickles as employment missionaries.
